BCYC Scarweather Regatta 2026
22nd and 23rd August
The Bristol Channel Yacht Club Scarweather Regatta is open to all YTC rated, self righting yachts.
The Scarweather Challenge Race took place on Saturday 22nd August in glorious sunshine. A light breeze at the start turned into something a little more frisky as yachts rounded the Scarweather Buoy and headed back to Mumbles, accompanied by a pod of porpoises and jumping fish.
First boat home was eboat Eros2 skippered by Paul Wayte (BCYC), who also secured victory once the handicapping came into play – his victory coming hot on the heels of his win at the Irish eboat Nationals at Skerries a week earlier
2nd place went to Jigsaw, Emelye Trew (BCYC) with Variation, Ben Herbert (SYSAC) taking 3rd
Unfortunately the wind didn’t turn up for day 2 and the In-Bay races. An alternative date is being sought and will be published in due course.
The Regatta is free to enter thanks to the generosity of our 2026 sailing sponsors: UHP Systems Ltd, Anchem Laboratories Ltd and John Morse Solicitors, Swansea.
